We would like to thank guests for joining McLaren Bristol for the 88th Geneva International Motor Show. The McLaren stand was a hive of activity giving guests the exclusive opportunity to see the newly launched McLaren Senna GTR concept following it’s unveil at the show.
Additional highlights included MSO displays, exciting new collaborations and exclusive Q&A sessions with the McLaren design team. Rybrook guests were hosted with VIP access, Champagne receptions and an evening of hospitality at the luxurious Crowne Plaza, Geneva.
McLaren Automotive CEO, Mike Flewitt unveiled the McLaren Senna GTR Concept, following the recent McLaren Senna reveal in December. The Senna GTR Concept is designed for track-only purposes, allowing more power and torque than the road legal Senna. Based around the same carbon fibre Monocage III structure its of similar weight but an impressive increase to at least 825PS horsepower from the 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8. An aerodynamic re-design allows for an impressive 1,000kg of downforce which will ensure that the McLaren Senna GTR will post the quickest McLaren circuit lap times outside of Formula 1.
Only 75 track-only Senna GTR’s will be produced following on from the 500 road legal McLaren Senna examples which were all sold prior to launch. The road legal McLaren Senna also made it’s public debut at Geneva. MSO revealed the ‘Carbon Theme’ bespoke project which combines the gloss Visual Carbon Fibre body with Carbon Black Alcantara interior trim and striking Solar Yellow and Laurel Green detailing, which echoes the helmet livery of legendary F1 driver and three-time World Champion, Ayrton Senna.
McLaren Design Director, Robert Melville and team from McLaren Bristol were on hand at Geneva to show our McLaren Senna customers the new model along with access to the MSO configuration suite, answering specification questions and offering guests the opportunity to talk through order options.
MSO displays were not limited to the McLaren Senna, also featured at the show was a unique MSO 720S which had been specifically commissioned for the Geneva International Motor Show following on from the World debut of the McLaren 720S at the 87th Show, this year celebrating the one year anniversary of MSO-crafted second generation Super Series models.
The MSO commission combines the deepest blue paint finishes which have been specifically formulated for the 720S with a classic Saddle Tan leather interior, named Atlantic Blue boasting luxury-accented allure. Please speak to a member of the team if you would like further information on MSO options or to book a configuration session.
McLaren Automotive also took the opportunity at #GIMSSWISS to confirm the update for the next new model to join the Ultimate Series which is code-named BP23, that the forthcoming three seat ‘Hyper-GT’ will be capable of exceeding 243mph (391km/h) – the peak speed of the iconic McLaren F1.
The final surprise of the show was the reveal of the jointly commissioned -collaboration with Richard Mille and creation of the first new timepiece, the RM11-03 McLaren Automatic Flyback Chronograph which has a limited production of 500 pieces made available mainly to Ultimate Series customers.
The collaboration saw McLaren Design Director, Rob Melville and Richard Mille Engineer Fabrice Namura develop the new timepiece uniting the mutual interest in unique design, modern craftsmanship and use of new materials. The timepiece reflects design cues taken from the McLaren range considering factors from extreme resistance, weight and mechanical performance whilst paying tribute to McLaren colours. The timepiece will be on display along with the impressive McLaren display at Geneva until the show concludes on the 18th March.
